This list will be based on the changes from Season 1 and will focus on the best melee DPS for Mythic+ dungeons in WoW 10.1. Tier List
This tier list takes into account the impact of new tier sets, the updated dungeon pool, and the overall meta shifts in Dragonflight Season 2. 1. Sub Rogue – S Tier
Subtlety Rogue takes the top spot as the strongest melee DPS spec for Mythic+ in Season 2. The new tier sets for both Sub and Outlaw are quite decent, making it difficult to definitively say which spec reigns supreme. However, Sub Rogue excels in its ability to funnel damage onto bosses, which becomes invaluable in higher-key dungeons. While not all dungeons require heavy control, Sub Rogue’s ability to control the fight through kicks and stuns can be a huge advantage. Expect to see Sub Rogues paired with two ranged DPS for optimal group composition.
2. Ret Paladin – A Tier
Retribution Paladins are a powerhouse in Dragonflight, consistently ranking highly in tier lists. However, with the rise of Protection Paladin as a top tank spec, Ret Paladin’s utility overlaps too much to justify an S-tier ranking. While Ret Paladin is still a formidable DPS choice, the potential for having both specs in the same group is unlikely. As a result, Ret Paladins are more likely to be found alongside other tank specs, making them a valuable A-tier choice.
3. Outlaw Rogue – A Tier
Outlaw Rogue is hot on the heels of Sub Rogue. With a great tier set and a focus on AOE damage, it’s a versatile option. While Sub Rogue might have an edge in boss fights, Outlaw’s strong AOE performance makes it a solid choice in dungeons with large pulls. This spec is a solid option for players who want a well-rounded and reliable melee DPS.
4. Enhancement Shaman – A Tier
Enhancement Shaman has been a consistent performer throughout Dragonflight, and Season 2 looks to be no different. With its high damage output and priority targets, Enhancement brings both AOE and single-target power to the table. It’s an excellent choice for players who want a spec that can adapt to any situation. While the double melee composition is often a concern, Enhancement Shaman can be integrated into groups effectively.
5. Havoc Demon Hunter – A Tier
While Demon Hunters haven’t quite reached their peak Mythic+ potential, they remain a strong choice for Season 2. They are particularly well-suited to groups with two ranged DPS, as their kit allows them to maximize their damage output in this composition. 7. Feral Druid – A Tier
Feral Druids, while not the smoothest spec to play, are expected to shine in Season 2. With the nerf to Balance Druids, Feral Druids might become the meta spec for Druid players. Their kit, including abilities like Ursol’s Vortex, provides valuable utility in Mythic+ dungeons. Feral Druids are a solid choice for players who want a spec with a lot of flexibility and powerful burst damage.
8. Windwalker Monk – B Tier
Windwalker Monks are a consistent pick for Mythic+ due to their utility and survivability. However, their damage output is not quite as high as other melee specs on this list. Their scaling with secondary stats is not as strong as other classes, and their tier sets, while decent, aren’t game-changing. Windwalker Monks can still be successful in Mythic+ and will be a strong choice for players who value utility and survivability.

13. Assassination Rogue – C Tier
Assassination Rogue falls short compared to other Rogue specs in Mythic+. While their tier set is decent, their bleed-focused kit doesn’t quite match the damage output of Outlaw or Sub. They can be successful, but they are not a dominant force in the current meta.
