In an effort to be more transparent and better involve the community in upcoming changes, Ankama has unveiled its overhaul of the Infinite Dreams feature in Dofus. Once considered too elitist and not reflective of its intended purpose—the pinnacle of end-game content—the goal now is to lean more heavily into roguelite elements while increasing overall difficulty. Even if it means leaving some players behind. If you don’t want to be eliminated, buying Dofus Kamas to enhance your character is your best choice
Currently, Infinite Dreams unlocks at level 50, offering players training floors where they can fight bosses at their level—without earning any rewards. That’s because meaningful loot only starts appearing from floor 200 onward, essentially requiring players to reach level 200 to benefit. As a result, there’s little incentive for lower-level players to engage with the system.
What’s more, apart from a few quest-related detours, most players barely touch the Dreams. The fights tend to feel repetitive despite the range of modifiers, and the complexity of these modifiers demands a steep learning curve. In practice, the experience becomes stale, especially across 200 nearly identical floors.
Eliminating the Monotony
With this new iteration, Ankama’s goal is to emphasize the roguelite aspect of Infinite Dreams, making the feature more dynamic and significantly shortening the number of required floors. Instead of slogging through 200 levels, players will now face a more manageable journey of around 30 stages. The “infinite” nature will now refer to replayability rather than sheer length.
Additionally, each dungeon boss will now have just one modifier instead of three, simplifying battles while still retaining variety.
Monsters will be better balanced, and the overall progression will be redesigned. Rather than climbing floors in a linear fashion, players will now choose their path—much like in Slay the Spire or One More Gate. They can head toward a shop, a special event, mini-bosses in the form of archmonsters, or face a full-fledged boss.
Streamlined Rewards, Greater Impact
With fewer floors to explore, there will naturally be fewer rewards. However, the different types of loot chests are being removed. Each milestone will now yield a single, consistent type of chest. Legendary items and animal legends will have dedicated chests, which drop at very low rates. Meanwhile, prysmaradites will now become standard combat rewards.
This revamp aims to bring new life to the Infinite Dreams, transforming it from a grind-heavy, repetitive system into an engaging, strategic roguelite experience worthy of the end-game. Whether you’re a returning veteran or a curious newcomer, this new vision may finally give you a reason to dream again.
