Fortunately, there are several key stats to focus on for Tank builds — Resistances, Lock (Tackle), Vitality, and Initiative are among the most important. Stat Distribution
There are a few viable ways to allocate your characteristic points for a level 200 Tank build.
The most common approach is to invest 300 points into Agility and 395 into Vitality. This provides extra Lock while ensuring a substantial health pool.
Alternatively, if you can afford to sacrifice a bit of Lock, you can opt for a pure 995 Vitality build for maximum survivability.
Alternative Equipment Options
In reality, there are very few alternatives for a proper Tank setup — it’s a delicate balance, and changing even one piece can break the build.
Key pieces like the Bavdur’s Necklace and the Whaleboots are essential. Without them, reaching 12 AP and 6 MP becomes nearly impossible. Since mobility is vital, we prioritize a build with 11 AP and 6 MP instead.
Similarly, the Courage of Lady Jhessica is indispensable. It provides a melee resistance bonus and a passive effect that reduces enemy Dodge, ensuring that no monster can easily escape your Tank’s grasp.
Forgemagic and Optimization
At this level, scrolling (parchmenting) your stats is a must — it grants extra Initiative, Lock, and Vitality, greatly enhancing performance.
In terms of Forgemagic:
- AP and MP exomaging is essential.
- Prioritize placing the MP exo on the Gloursonne Ring, which is easy to mage thanks to its Range (PO) stat.
- Apply the AP exo to the Pol Ouatnos Ring, which already contains an MP stat, making it easier to forge due to its existing stat “well”. However, note that this ring is mostly effective for this specific Tank setup.
For further optimization:
- Apply a Transcendence Vitality rune (Pata Vi) on the Dragoeuf Helmet to gain +75 Vitality.
- Make the most of the stat “wells” from Bavdur’s Necklace, Whaleboots, and Aermyne’s Rolling Pin to maximize their Vitality through efficient maged enhancements.
