Dune: Awakening Update Revamps Deep Desert, Endgame, and Landsraad.

Dune: Awakening Patch Notes 1.1.15.0

Deep Desert, End Game, and Landsraad

The latest update for Dune: Awakening focuses on enhancing the Deep Desert experience, end-game activities, and Landsraad mechanics for both PvE and PvP enthusiasts. Funcom aims to address player feedback and improve the overall gameplay loop, particularly in the critical end-game phase. This patch introduces changes designed to offer a more balanced and rewarding experience, whether you prefer battling other players or conquering the environment.

  • Tier 6 Resource Distribution: T6 resources are now more widely available in PvE zones within the Deep Desert, easing the resource grind for players who prefer avoiding PvP conflicts.
  • Randomized Loot Containers: The respawn timers for unique loot containers in the Deep Desert have been randomized, adding an element of surprise and encouraging exploration.
  • Plastanium Component Separation: Plastanium tier crafting components are now tied to specific Deep Desert locations (Imperial Testing Stations, Caves, Shipwrecks) for a more targeted farming experience. Fallen Shipwrecks and Buried Treasure can drop components from any location.
  • Unique PvE Loot Variety: There is an increased chance for different Uniques to drop in PvE loot within the Deep Desert, providing more reasons to engage with PvE content.
  • Spice Field Spawn Rate Adjustment: Medium spice field spawns have increased from 5 to 8, and small spice field spawns have risen from 22 to 30, making spice harvesting more viable.
  • PvP Security Zone Delay: The delay for exiting a PvP security zone has been increased from 5 to 30 seconds. This deters border camping and empowers players to defend their territory.
  • Landsraad Task Enhancements: Landsraad tasks now allow for Kill and Delivery Contribution even after the task has been completed. However, only personal contribution is awarded, and it doesn’t affect which faction won or guild vote allocation.

Other:

Beyond the core focus areas, this update also includes several quality-of-life improvements and technical enhancements designed to improve the overall player experience. These adjustments address stability concerns, environmental hazards, and provide better awareness of PvP zone transitions, which all contribute to a more polished and engaging gameplay session.

  • Stability Improvements: The patch enhances game stability, aiming to reduce crashes and improve overall performance.
  • Sandworm Vehicle Interaction: Instances of sandworms pushing vehicles under the terrain have been reduced, preventing frustrating vehicle loss.
  • PvP Zone Change Audio Alert: A new audio alert has been implemented to signal changes in PvP zones, improving situational awareness.

FIXES

Several key bugs and exploits have been addressed in this patch, ensuring a fairer and more enjoyable experience for all players. These fixes range from resolving quest progression issues to preventing inventory exploits, demonstrating Funcom’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the game and addressing player concerns.

  • Harkonnen Contract Fix: Fixed an issue where the Harkonnen recruitment contract “Do you have what it takes?” could become stuck, preventing completion.
  • Contract Reward Issue: Addressed a problem where contract rewards would drop on the ground if the player’s inventory was full, potentially leading to lost items. Rewards now can only be claimed with sufficient inventory space.
  • Vehicle Module Highlighting: Corrected an issue where vehicle modules would not highlight correctly after applying a customization variant.
  • Pentashield Overlap: Fixed an issue that allowed pentashield surfaces to overlap, which could lead to unintended advantages or disadvantages.
  • Vehicle Building Exploit: Patched an exploit that allowed players to build vehicles using items from another player’s inventory.
