EA SPORTS FC 26 has entered one of the most important stages of the Ultimate Team cycle. FUTTIES is now live, Season 9 is packed with Tokens, Evolutions and premium rewards, and EA has already started connecting FC 26 progression with EA SPORTS FC 27 through carryover rewards. For players still building their endgame squads, this is the right time to decide where FC 26 Coins can deliver the most value.
If you want to strengthen your squad without waiting weeks to build a larger Transfer Market budget, you can check FC 26 Coins on iGV and use your available Coins to target players, SBC requirements and squad upgrades. At this stage of FC 26, however, spending intelligently matters more than simply having the largest possible balance.
What Is Happening in FC 26 Right Now?
The biggest current Ultimate Team event is FUTTIES, EA’s annual endgame celebration of popular players and memorable cards from across the FC 26 season.
FUTTIES officially began on July 24, 2026 and runs across four weeks. Throughout the campaign, EA is releasing new FUTTIES Player Items alongside returning cards from previous promotions, new Squad Building Challenges, Objectives, Live Events and Evolutions.
This means the FC 26 endgame is not simply about buying the highest-rated player available. Squad building now revolves heavily around customisation, PlayStyles, alternate positions and value.
FUTTIES Cards Are More Customisable
One of the biggest differences between FUTTIES and many earlier FC 26 promotions is the way regular FUTTIES Player Items handle PlayStyles.
Regular FUTTIES cards begin with zero PlayStyles and zero PlayStyle+. Players can then use PlayStyle Lab Evolutions to customise those items according to their own tactical needs.
During FUTTIES, players can build cards with up to four PlayStyle+ upgrades. EA has also confirmed that a fifth PlayStyle+ Evolution Consumable will appear toward the end of the campaign.
This makes FUTTIES cards particularly interesting because two players using the same base item may eventually create very different versions.
A striker can be developed around finishing and movement, while another version of the same player might focus more heavily on dribbling and chance creation.
A central midfielder can become a defensive ball winner, deep-lying passer or box-to-box option depending on the PlayStyle upgrades applied.
FUTTIES Cards Have Excellent Positional Flexibility
Every FUTTIES Player Item includes at least one five-star upgrade between Skill Moves and Weak Foot.
Each card also has four alternate positions.
That positional flexibility is extremely valuable in the FC 26 endgame because many players now switch formations before or during matches.
A player who starts at CM for chemistry may be able to move into CDM, CAM or another position after changing tactics.
When buying FUTTIES players from the Transfer Market, therefore, do not judge them only by overall rating.
Look at five-star upgrades, alternate positions, body type, key Attributes and Evolution potential before deciding whether the card is worth your FC 26 Coins.
How to Use FC 26 Coins During FUTTIES
The late stage of Ultimate Team is very different from the first months of FC 26.
Earlier in the season, a single expensive card might remain competitive for several months. During FUTTIES, new high-rated cards and SBCs can appear every week.
That makes flexibility one of the most important parts of your coin strategy.
Do Not Spend Your Entire Budget on One Player
Suppose you have 1 million FC 26 Coins available.
Buying one 950,000-Coin attacker may look like the biggest upgrade, but it also leaves almost no flexibility for SBCs, chemistry changes or new FUTTIES releases.
A better approach is often to divide your budget between several positions.
For example, upgrading a striker, central midfielder and centre-back can have a greater impact on the squad than replacing one already strong attacker with a slightly better premium card.
Before buying any expensive FUTTIES card, ask one question: how much does this player actually improve my starting eleven?
If the difference is small, keeping your Coins liquid may be more valuable.
Buy Players After the Initial Release Hype
New FUTTIES cards can be extremely volatile during their first hours on the Transfer Market.
Supply is initially low, traders are still discovering the correct price range and many players are willing to overpay simply because the card is new.
As more packs are opened, supply usually improves.
Unless you need a player immediately for Champions or another competitive mode, consider monitoring the market instead of purchasing during the first few minutes of a release.
The cheapest price is never guaranteed, but avoiding the initial hype can reduce unnecessary spending.
Compare Tradeable Players With SBC Alternatives
FUTTIES includes a large number of Player SBCs.
EA confirmed that the opening week alone included nine Player SBCs, with additional challenges arriving throughout the campaign.
Whenever a major SBC appears, compare it with available Transfer Market players.
An SBC can offer excellent value if you already own a large amount of untradeable fodder.
However, SBC players cannot normally be sold later. Once the squads have been submitted, the Coins and cards used are effectively committed.
A tradeable Transfer Market player gives you more flexibility because you can sell the card if a stronger option arrives.
Master the FUTTIES Token System
Season 9 has made Tokens one of the most important reward systems in FC 26 Ultimate Team.
FUTTIES Tokens can be earned through several modes, including Division Rivals, Squad Battles, Rush, Champions and selected SBCs.
The FUTTIES Token Store refreshes every Friday.
Weekly FUTTIES Token Limit
Players can earn a maximum of 1,000 FUTTIES Tokens per week.
The Token Store contains Player Items, Packs and Evolution Consumables, so players should check available rewards before deciding where to spend their Tokens.
Do not automatically choose the most expensive reward.
Consider what your squad actually needs.
If your starting eleven is already strong, an Evolution Consumable capable of improving a favourite card may provide more long-term value than another random pack.
Champions Tokens Are Easier to Understand
Season 9 changed Champions Token rewards to a flat system.
Each Champions win earns 100 Tokens.
EA also reduced the Token requirement for certain Player Items so that three Champions wins can provide enough Tokens to obtain a Player Item from the Champions Token Store.
For average players, this makes Champions more attractive because useful rewards are no longer limited only to very high-rank finishes.
Complete Future World Tour Objectives
Season 9 also includes the Future World Tour.
Five Objective groups are being released weekly, offering Player Items and Season Points.
Players who complete at least four of the five Future World Tour Objective groups can earn FUTTIES ICON Frank Lampard through the Completionist reward.
This is especially useful for players who do not want to spend all of their FC 26 Coins on the Transfer Market.
Objective cards may not always replace the most expensive FUTTIES items, but free high-rated players can strengthen your bench, provide chemistry options or become valuable SBC fodder later.
Do Not Ignore Evolutions
FUTTIES may be the strongest Evolution-focused period of the entire FC 26 season.
Before spending hundreds of thousands of Coins on a new player, check whether one of your existing cards can be improved.
Choose PlayStyles for Your Formation
The best Evolution is not necessarily the one with the biggest visual rating increase.
Consider how you actually play.
If your striker constantly attacks space behind the defensive line, prioritise upgrades that support acceleration, movement and finishing.
If your midfielder plays as a holding CDM, defensive and passing PlayStyles may have more value than another attacking upgrade.
For centre-backs, recovery speed, tackling and physical strength remain particularly important against FUTTIES-level attackers.
Test a Card Before Finalising Its Evolution Path
Because PlayStyle Lab allows significant customisation, avoid upgrading a card immediately after obtaining it.
Use the player in several matches first.
Identify whether the card struggles with finishing, passing, movement, defending or another area.
Then build the Evolution around the weakness or role you actually need.
Prepare for FC 27 While Playing FC 26
One of the biggest reasons FC 26 remains relevant is the introduction of FC 27 carryover rewards.
EA is allowing players to complete selected FC 26 activities and receive specific rewards after moving to FC 27.
This does not mean that every FC 26 asset automatically moves into FC 27. The carryover system applies to specifically designated rewards.
Season 9 FC 27 Reward
Season 9 includes an FC 27 carryover reward at Level 30.
Players reaching the required level can earn an 82+ x5 Player Pack for EA SPORTS FC 27.
This reward becomes useful once FC 27 begins because even relatively basic high-rated cards can be valuable during the opening stage of a new Ultimate Team economy.
The World’s Game Carryover Rewards
EA has also confirmed FC 27 rewards through eligible FC 26 objectives.
Players must complete the specified requirements and use the same EA Account when moving from FC 26 to FC 27.
The rewards are scheduled to arrive after FC 27 launches.
This makes late-season FC 26 progression more valuable than in previous years. Even if your current squad is already powerful, selected Objectives can still contribute to your FC 27 start.
Should You Save or Spend FC 26 Coins?
The answer depends on what you still want to accomplish in FC 26.
If you continue playing Champions, Rivals and FUTTIES regularly, there is little benefit in holding a huge unused balance purely for the sake of having Coins.
Use your FC 26 Coins to improve the team you are actually playing with.
Prioritise players who noticeably improve your weakest positions, useful FUTTIES Evolution candidates and SBCs that provide strong long-term value.
At the same time, avoid spending large amounts simply because FC 26 is nearing the end of its cycle.
A 2-million-Coin player may become significantly cheaper after another FUTTIES release or re-release.
A Balanced Coin Strategy
A good endgame approach is to keep part of your budget available.
Use around half of your available spending budget on immediate squad improvements and retain the remainder for new SBCs, FUTTIES cards and sudden market opportunities.
For example, a player with 1 million FC 26 Coins does not necessarily need to spend all 1 million immediately.
Buying two strong upgrades for 500,000 to 700,000 Coins while keeping the rest liquid gives you more options when the next major content update arrives.
Building a FUTTIES Endgame Squad
The strongest FC 26 squad is not automatically the squad with the highest overall rating.
At this stage of Ultimate Team, role suitability becomes increasingly important.
Attackers
Look for acceleration, responsive dribbling, strong finishing and five-star combinations.
FUTTIES attackers with several alternate positions are particularly useful because they allow more tactical flexibility.
Midfielders
Try to maintain balance.
A midfield consisting entirely of attacking players can struggle against fast transitions.
Ideally, combine a strong defensive midfielder with a progressive passer or box-to-box option.
Defenders
Pace becomes increasingly important as attackers become more powerful.
Centre-backs need enough recovery speed to defend transitions while still offering strong defensive Attributes and physical presence.
Full-backs should also have enough stamina and passing ability to support possession.
Before Buying FC Coins
Players considering third-party FC Coins should understand EA’s official Ultimate Team rules before making a purchase.
EA states that purchasing Ultimate Team Coins from third parties or using the Transfer Market specifically to distribute Coins is against its rules and may result in enforcement against an account.
If you choose to use a marketplace such as iGV, review the ordering process and delivery method carefully and understand the potential account-policy risk before proceeding.
Final Thoughts
FC 26 FUTTIES is one of the best opportunities to build the squad you wanted throughout the season.
New FUTTIES Player Items, PlayStyle Lab Evolutions, weekly SBCs, Tokens, Objectives and FC 27 carryover rewards mean there is still plenty to do even as attention begins moving toward EA SPORTS FC 27.
Use FC 26 Coins where they create a meaningful upgrade, avoid paying unnecessary launch-day premiums and continue completing objectives that provide future FC 27 value.
The goal of the FC 26 endgame should not simply be collecting the most expensive cards. Build a squad that suits the way you play, take advantage of FUTTIES customisation and prepare your account for the next chapter in FC 27.
