In the Story Mode
The McKenzie Field Hangar, a purchasable property in GTA V Story Mode, serves as a smuggling operation primarily for Trevor. Unlocked after the “Nervous Ron” mission, it costs $150,000. Upon purchase, a Cuban 800 aircraft appears in the hangar, and a Dune Buggy spawns nearby, ready for air and ground smuggling activities. This property offers a consistent way to generate revenue throughout the game.
Income
The hangar’s income in Story Mode comes exclusively from Arms Trafficking missions. These missions are divided into ground and air categories, each with five variations. All ground missions payout the same, and all air missions offer a standard reward. Completing an air delivery nets you $7000, while a ground delivery earns $5000. To recoup your initial investment, you’d need to complete either 22 air missions or 30 ground missions, or a combination of both.
Bonuses of $125 are awarded for quick deliveries, precise drops, and evasion of radar during flights, boosting your earnings per mission. While the income structure is simple with fixed payouts, it offers a dependable revenue stream. Once established, the hangar provides a passive income source, allowing you to pursue other activities while consistently earning money.
In the Online Mode
Introduced to GTA Online in the Agents of Sabotage update (March 4, 2025), the McKenzie Field Hangar can be acquired through Maze Bank Foreclosures for $1,475,000. While the hangar doesn’t provide aircraft storage or customization, owning it adds 15 aircraft slots to your personal hangar inventory. Additionally, the purchase includes an office space and personal quarters, providing a base of operations for your online ventures.
Income
The primary income source for the McKenzie Field Hangar in GTA Online is completing missions for Oscar Guzman in the contract titled “Oscar Guzman Flies Again.” These missions are accessible from your hangar office. There are a total of six missions involved in this line of work. Completing them is essential to maximizing the potential rewards from the hangar. You can run these missions with friends or strangers alike.
UP and Running
This is the introductory mission required to unlock the full contract. Upon completing this initial task, you’re free to tackle the remaining missions in any sequence you prefer. This provides flexibility in how you approach the contract and allows you to select missions based on your skill set or current equipment.
Setup
- Mogul: Steal at least one Mogul plane from Banham Canyon, evading enemy attacks. Return the stolen plane to the hangar and notify Oscar via text message.
- Intel: Infiltrate the Drone Center using drones to gather intelligence, remain undetected. Afterwards, dive underwater to retrieve cargo from a shipwreck and bring it back to your base.
- Iron Mule: Travel to the Weapon Testing Site and hijack four DH-7 Iron Mule helicopters using jammers. Then, pilot them back to the McKenzie Field Hangar, defending against Eberhard forces attempting to disable the jammers. This mission usually requires some heavier weapons, so be prepared.
- Ammunition: Secure Titan 250 D Ammunition from a cargo ship, deliver it to a designated drop-off point, and confirm delivery to Oscar via text. Prioritize collecting Heavy Armor and Mogul Upgrades cargo crates during this mission as well.
- The Titan Job: This is the final step. Defend against all Eberhard enemies and utilize the Titan 250 D to destroy their assets. The upgraded ammunition is necessary for this task.
Upon finishing all missions in Normal Mode, you’ll receive a base payout of $500,000, plus a one-time bonus of $250,000 for completing the contract for the first time. Playing in Hard Mode increases the reward to $750,000 per completion, making it a highly profitable, repeatable activity. This makes it worthwhile to continue even after the initial bonus is acquired.
Conclusion
The McKenzie Field Hangar is a solid investment in GTA 5 and GTA Online. In Story Mode, it provides steady, passive income through arms trafficking. In GTA Online, “Oscar Guzman Flies Again” provides substantial payouts, especially in Hard Mode. Whether smuggling goods or completing contracts, the McKenzie Field Hangar is a valuable asset for players looking to boost their bank balances and further establish themselves in the game.
