- The head of Rockstar Games reportedly considered postponing the announcement of GTA 6 in November 2023 to annoy Schreier.

Insider makes prediction for the release of GTA 6
What does he say about the release of GTA 6? Jason Schreier expects the release of GTA 6 to be postponed and the eagerly awaited action game from Rockstar Games to be released in 2026.
Although the publisher Take-Two Interactive says that the game continues to hold the course of the release planned for 2025, Schreier adds that “companies say a lot of things.” The insider knows how great the pressure behind the ambitious GTA 6 is to deliver a great game.
In addition, Schreier says, Rockstar Games “swore” not to force employees to work extreme overtime in the final months of a development. So instead of forcing the release within the time frame, we could expect a postponement.
Around the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, the development studio had to take heavy criticism. At the time, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser boasted that some employees would work 100 hours a week several times a year so that the Wild West epic would be released on time.
As recently as September 2024, Schreier wrote that Rockstar Games employees told him that they had not heard of a postponement of GTA 6. At the time, there were many rumors claiming that GTA 6 would not come until 2026.
As early as September, however, Schreier emphasized that this all-clear may only apply according to the state of development at the time and that it could not be ruled out that there could still be postponements in the future.
