Gta 2

Mark the date: November 19, 2026.

After years of speculation, two public delays, and the most-viewed non-music video trailer in YouTube history, Rockstar Games has locked in the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed it in the company’s February 2026 earnings call, calling the launch “groundbreaking for the entire entertainment industry.” The marketing campaign begins summer 2026. Pre-orders are expected to open between July and September. This is happening.

What We Know About GTA 6 — Every Confirmed Detail

Grand Theft Auto VI is an action-adventure game set within an open world in the fictional US state of Leonida, based on Florida, including Vice City, Grassrivers, and the Leonida Keys, based on Miami, the Everglades, and the Florida Keys respectively.

GTA 6 returns to Vice City for the first time since the 2002 original. The city now sits within the broader state of Leonida, and the full map is believed to encompass significantly more territory than GTA V’s Los Santos and Blaine County combined.

The confirmed dual protagonists are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval — making Lucia the franchise’s first playable female protagonist. Two cinematic trailers have been released, but a gameplay reveal has not yet been shown publicly. Marketing is expected to begin in summer 2026, with trailers, gameplay reveals, and pre-order announcements arriving in sequence.

Platform launch: GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S exclusively. A PC version has not been confirmed, but based on historical Rockstar patterns, a late 2027 or early 2028 PC release is the working expectation.

Price: No official price has been set. Take-Two’s CEO has indicated a range of $70–$80 for a standard edition, but formal pricing is expected when pre-orders open.

GTA Online Is Still Alive and Kicking

While the world waits for GTA 6, Los Santos keeps the lights on. GTA Online’s first weekly update for April 2026 introduced a Neighborhood Watch Event, bringing new decommissioned police vehicles from Bravado — the Buffalo Cruiser and the Buffalo STX Pursuit — alongside new Dispatch Work missions, Wildlife Photography bonuses, and new LSPD and Park Ranger outfits as seasonal rewards.

Weekly updates continue to roll out every Thursday, keeping the active player base occupied with new vehicles, cash bonuses, community events, and seasonal challenges. The A Safehouse in the Hills DLC content continues to drip-feed new law enforcement vehicles and missions into the rotation. For players who want to build out their GTA Online empire before GTA 6 arrives, there’s still considerable content to engage with.

The GTA 6 Countdown Is Real — And It’s Close

Seven months. That’s all that separates the gaming world from the most anticipated entertainment product in recent history. Rockstar has kept most gameplay details under wraps, but the marketing machine is about to start. Once it does, the noise will be unlike anything in gaming.
