You Have an Infinite Storage Locker in The Lodge

Don’t fret about running out of space. New Atlantis’ The Lodge offers an often-overlooked feature: unlimited storage. Inside, a secure locker (find it in your bedroom) lets you stash everything you’ve collected without worrying about carrying it all. There is also an additional storage box located in the basement. This is perfect for storing important items or gear you don’t want to carry with you. Keep in mind, these are safe spaces, so no need to worry about their content being lost.

Increasing Your Personal Storage

Boosting your personal inventory isn’t just about finding more pockets; it’s about optimizing your character’s carrying capacity. The Weight Lifting skill is key. Leveling up this skill directly increases your maximum carry weight. Each level-up grants a substantial boost. You’ll find yourself with more options for equipment, tools and materials. To level up this skill, sprint while carrying a heavy load (70% or more of your carrying capacity) to quickly gain experience. This means that if you’re already encumbered, you can just keep running around and you will automatically level this skill.

Using Your Companion as a Mule

Your companions can be your tireless cargo carriers. Whenever you’re feeling overencumbered, use the companion interface to trade items with them. This way, you can offload unnecessary items while still having a hand in choosing what you actually want to keep. This is particularly useful for resources and bulky items that make the process of fast-traveling inconvenient. If your character is too heavy to move, there’s also the option to leave all extra weight with your companion. Make sure to take advantage of this function.

Increasing Your Ship Storage

Your ship’s storage is an essential part of inventory management. To increase its capacity, you’ll need to customize it through the ship’s workshop or through Ship Services Technicians. This can be a pricey undertaking but worth it to free up space on your person. Modifying your existing ship gives you more options for the layout, so you can take this as an opportunity to reorganize your cargo for easier access. You’ll have to start by deleting the original cargo hold and adding extra cargo mounts and structural mounts on the sides of the ship to properly store larger amounts of cargo. You can also upgrade your ship or engines to handle the additional weight. This could either require upgrading your existing cargo hold or getting a completely new hold for better handling.

Other Storage Tips

• Captains Locker: A built-in storage unit (found near the cockpit) can hold a decent amount of cargo, allowing you to store additional items on your ship.
• Freestar Collective Magazines: Finding these rare magazines unlocks extra weight capacity, which is crucial for hauling large quantities of resources.
• Temporary Storage: Don’t be afraid to temporarily leave items on the ground in outposts or inside your home or ship. This helps you clear up your pockets and frees you to move.
