Warframe Updates: Big Changes Coming

The Big Warframe Updates are Coming

The New War- Release Date

Warframe’s highly anticipated narrative expansion, “The New War,” is slated for a December 2019 release. This marks a significant delay from previous projections, adding to the anticipation for this substantial update. The developers have indicated that this major storyline will be larger in scale and scope than previous expansions like “The Second Dream” and “The War Within.” Initial plans for a July 2019 release, even before TennoCon, may be revised to coincide with other popular looter shooter releases, such as Destiny 2’s Shadowkeep and Borderlands 3. The developers are clearly aiming for a competitive position in the market for big content releases.

The Sentient Story

The story of Warframe is renowned for its intricate narrative. The current storyline involves the Lotus’s transition to an antagonist role, a plot twist that continues to intrigue players. “The New War” promises a deeper exploration of this conflict, expanding upon the narrative arc established in previous updates, notably “The Sacrifice,” We can anticipate pivotal plot developments that will reshape the fate of Tenno, and likely include an invading force targeting Earth. This storyline hints at a new, hostile environment likely in the Tau system, potentially introducing a new themed map or aesthetic for players to experience.

There are four tiers of rewards:

  • Tier 1: 50,000 Credits & Redeemer Abysso Skin
  • Tier 2: 50,000 Credits & Hydroid’s Relay Scene
  • Tier 3: 50,000 Credits & Hydroid Reprise Noggle
  • Tier 4: Stratos Emblem & Orokin Reactor

Railjacks

Prior to “The New War,” Warframe is introducing a significant gameplay addition: Railjacks. These enormous interceptor spaceships represent a major upgrade in player control and spatial combat. Players will be able to customize their Railjacks in a dedicated Dojo section, allowing personalized weapon configurations and crew assignments. The Railjacks’ design emphasizes tactical versatility, allowing for a dynamic experience unlike the single-Tenno Archwing approach. Players can operate various systems including helm control, damage control, and weapon deployment, suggesting a multi-person, team-based combat experience.

The Duviri Paradox

TennoCon 2019 also revealed “The Duviri Paradox,” promising a unique new open world environment. The trailer showcased an intriguing aesthetic, featuring a dark, alien landscape and a notable introduction of space horses, an unexpected and exciting element. This expansion signifies a shift in Warframe’s approach to world design. The inclusion of time travel mechanics is highly noteworthy, and a significant aspect of this update will involve the Operator character’s journey through this new realm. The addition of the Operator character will allow the use of weapons previously unavailable, adding a layer of diversity to the player’s options.

Final Thoughts

The upcoming Warframe updates mark a significant step forward for the game. Players can anticipate a narrative-rich experience, new tactical vehicles, and an impressive new open world. These updates demonstrate Warframe’s commitment to continually evolving the gameplay and story. The content roadmap includes substantial additions, suggesting a significant investment in the future of Warframe’s gameplay mechanics and design. The team’s dedication to delivering an engaging player experience is evident, offering a multitude of possibilities and enhancing the gameplay.
