Aria ZZZ Build: Drive Discs, Engines & Teams

Character profile – Aria

Aria enters the fray in Zenless Zone Zero as an exciting S-Rank Ether Anomaly Agent, serving as the lead vocalist of the Angels of Delusion. Don’t let her appealing looks deceive you; she’s a potent damage dealer specializing in continuous Ether Anomaly damage. Her core strength lies in accumulating “Fandom Powers” to unleash devastating attacks, especially when enemies are stunned. As a dedicated DPS unit, Aria demands a specific build to maximize her potential, focusing on amplifying her unique Ether-based anomaly effects and ensuring enemies remain vulnerable during her attack windows. She brings a fresh dynamic to the roster with her unique mechanics and high damage ceiling.

How to play Aria in ZZZ

Aria’s combat style revolves around a clear and effective loop: generate Fandom Powers, stun your targets, and then unleash powerful plunge attacks. She builds Fandom Powers through various actions, including her fourth Basic Attack, Special Attack, Chain Attack, Ultimate, and Ether Veil. With at least two Fandom Powers, Aria can execute her Basic Attack: Perfect Pitch or charged attacks, which apply Ether Anomaly to foes. If an enemy already has an anomaly, this triggers “Abloom,” a significant damage burst. Maximizing her output means timing these plunge attacks during stun windows, as her damage ratio increases by a substantial 50%. Aria’s kit particularly thrives in mono-Ether teams, allowing for greater Abloom damage compared to mixed anomaly compositions.

ZZZ Aria skill priority

To optimize Aria’s performance, strategic investment in her skills is crucial. The highest priority should be given to her Core Skills, as they provide fundamental stat boosts and significantly enhance her overall “Abloom” damage, which forms a major part of her offensive power. Following Core Skills, her Special Attack, Chain Attack, and Basic Attack are next in line for upgrades, directly improving her damage multipliers and Fandom Power generation. Abilities like Dodge and Assist can be upgraded with any leftover resources, but they contribute less directly to her damage output, making them lower priorities in the overall build progression for Aria.

Best Aria Drive Discs build

For an optimal Aria build, prioritize Drive Discs that boost Ether Damage, Anomaly Proficiency, and Anomaly Mastery. The premier choice is a 4-piece Shining Aria set, paired with a 2-piece Phaeton’s Melody. Shining Aria provides 10% Ether DMG, 36 Anomaly Proficiency upon Basic Attack hit, and a substantial 25% damage increase when any enemy is stunned. This set is tailor-made for Ether Anomaly agents who work with a stunner. Phaeton’s Melody complements this by adding 8% Anomaly Mastery. An alternative is a 4-piece Phaeton’s Melody with 2-piece Shining Aria, offering Anomaly Mastery, Ether damage, and Anomaly Proficiency, which is better if stun uptime is less consistent. Other 2-piece options include Chaos Jazz or Freedom Blues for additional Anomaly Proficiency.

Main stats for every drive discs:

  • Drive Disc Slot 4: Anomaly Proficiency
  • Drive Disc Slot 5: Ether Damage
  • Drive Disc Slot 6: Anomaly Mastery

Substats priority:

  • Anomaly Proficiency
  • Anomaly Mastery
  • ATK%
  • Flat ATK

Zenless best Aria W-engines

Aria benefits greatly from W-Engines that enhance her Ether Damage, Anomaly Mastery, and Anomaly Proficiency. The absolute best option is her signature S-Rank weapon, Angel in the Shell. This W-Engine provides a significant boost to Anomaly Mastery (up to 30%), 90 Anomaly Proficiency, 20% increased damage to enemies with anomalies, and an extra 10% Attribute Anomaly Damage, as long as Aria remains on-field. Another excellent S-Rank choice is Flight of Fancy, which increases Anomaly Buildup Rate by 40% and grants stacking Anomaly Proficiency when Aria deals Ether DMG. For A-Rank alternatives, Electro Lipgloss offers valuable Anomaly Proficiency, ATK, and bonus damage. Weeping Gemini (R5) is a strong free-to-play option for stacking Anomaly Proficiency, while Rainforest Gourmet provides Anomaly Proficiency and a decent ATK buff based on Energy consumed, enhancing her overall offensive presence.

Aria Mindscape Cinema – Should You Pull?

Aria’s Mindscape Cinema (Eidolons) offer substantial upgrades, with some providing significant power spikes. Energetic Sound Waves (M1) is highly recommended, as it allows her attacks to ignore 10% Ether Anomaly Buildup RES and gives Abloom a critical hit chance, scaling with Anomaly Mastery. This dramatically boosts her burst damage. Fantastical Beat (M2) further amplifies her damage by enabling her attacks and Abloom triggers to ignore up to 24% of enemy DEF, making her a formidable threat. While Delulu (M3) and Tears in the Rain (M5) provide direct skill level increases, their impact is less transformative compared to M1 and M2. Mechanical Angel (M4) improves her rotation by granting energy and decibels upon Abloom triggers, enhancing Fandom Power generation. Finally, Construct’s Dream (M6) offers a game-changing enhancement, putting Aria in a near-permanent Moment of Delusion state, constantly generating Fandom Powers and significantly boosting her ultimate’s Ether DMG. For most players, M1 or M2 are ideal stopping points, with M6 being a premium target for maximum investment.

Best ZZZ Aria teams

As an Ether Anomaly DPS, Aria thrives when paired with agents who can stun enemies, apply more anomaly effects (ideally Ether), and provide crucial support. Her ideal team compositions balance daze generation, damage amplification, and survivability to ensure she can unleash her full potential during stun windows.

Zenless Zone Zero Aria team – Aria, Nangong Yu and Sunna

This team leverages the full Angels of Delusion synergy. Nangong Yu acts as an Ether stunner, providing team-wide buffs and extending stun durations—precisely what Aria needs for her enhanced damage windows. Sunna completes the trio as a dedicated support, offering buffs and essential sustain to keep the team going, ensuring Aria remains the primary damage dealer.

Zenless Zone Zero Aria double support team – Aria, Sunna and Yuzuha

While lacking a dedicated stunner, this composition maximizes Aria’s damage through extensive buffs. Yuzuha and Sunna combine their supportive capabilities to significantly amplify Aria’s anomaly damage. Though staggering enemies might take longer, the sheer amount of damage amplification from the double support setup allows Aria to shine.

ZZZ Aria Qingyi team – Aria, Qingyi and Sunna

Qingyi is an exceptional choice for Aria due to her role as a versatile stunner. She rapidly dazes enemies with her combos, hits multiple targets, and notably increases stun multipliers. Paired with Sunna providing consistent support, this team offers both effective crowd control and strong damage amplification for Aria’s burst phases.

Zenless Zone Zero Aria Dialyn team – Aria, Dialyn and Sunna

Replacing Nangong Yu with Dialyn creates one of Aria’s most potent teams. Dialyn boasts unparalleled daze output, significantly increases stun multipliers, and can convert Chain Attacks into Ultimates, granting Aria more Fandom Powers and frequent robot form activations. Sunna or Yuzuha can fill the final support slot to provide additional buffs or healing, optimizing Aria’s uptime and damage.

ZZZ Aria Lycaon F2P team – Aria, Lycaon and Nicole

This is an excellent free-to-play friendly team. Lycaon serves as an effective F2P stunner, rapidly dazing enemies. With his potential enhancements, he can also enable Aria to deal bonus damage. Nicole, an Ether agent, assists with anomaly application, groups enemies for Aria’s AoE attacks, shreds enemy defense, and can provide buffs via specific Drive Discs.

ZZZ Aria F2P team – Aria, Anby and Nicole

For players without Lycaon, Anby is a solid alternative F2P stunner. Anby’s daze capabilities pair well with Nicole’s utility. Nicole contributes by being an Ether agent, facilitating Abloom triggers, gathering enemies, and reducing defense. This combination ensures Aria can still effectively trigger her high-damage windows even with accessible characters.
