WoW DPS Ranking – These Classes Do the Most Damage

The current and final raid in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is Amirdrassil, Hope of the Dream. iGV introduces you to the best classes in the DPS ranking.

Update March 12, 2024: We have updated the ranking.

In the meantime, patch 10.2.5 has been released with a number of class adjustments and has been active for a few weeks. Many players have already completed their set and been able to loot their best weapons and trinkets.

The legendary axe Fyr'alath should also have arrived with most two-handed strength wearers by now, or at least enough to shape the numbers in the DPS ranking. Accordingly, there have been quite a few postponements since the release of the raid. Let's take a look at the new numbers.

Dragonflight DPS Ranking: The Best Classes in Amirdrassil

For our list, we're referring to data from warcraftlogs. We're looking at Heroic Mode with a percentile value of 75 across all bosses (as of March 13, 2024, via warcraftlogs).

The winners:

All classes have gained a lot of DPS since the raid was released. The range has increased from between 120-165k to between 173-244k. This means that even the weakest classes are now even stronger than the best ones at the start of the raid.

The biggest leap forward has been made by Shadow Priests, who rarely get significantly better or worse during a piece of content. This is especially noteworthy because the class was considered broken at the start of the raid.

Deception Rogues have worked their way up past their Assassin counterparts. A special feature of this raid is that Weapon Warriors themselves are above the Fury Warriors towards the end of the raid tier. Traditionally, Fury Warriors get stronger when it comes to better gear.

The losers:

The biggest fall since the raid began has been suffered by Outlaw Rogues. They used to play at the top and are now one of the bottom lights. The reason for this is probably that the other specializations simply scale better with the equipment and there are hardly any trash fights worth mentioning in the raid. With almost every boss, damage to a single target is more important, and this is where Deceivers shine.

Hunters have all been dampened as well, but this is often the case towards the end of the content. The class is often at the top with at least one spec at the start of a new raid, but rarely gets much better from there.

Reinforcement Callers are still at the bottom of the list, but that's partly because dealing damage isn't their primary job. Their main purpose is to buff and support other classes, which is why they often forgo personal DPS.

Note that even after a long time, some specializations are hardly played. Affliction Sorcerers, for example, have only 8,000 playthroughs, which puts them behind the otherwise least played Survival Hunters with 15,200 playthroughs. So the numbers here are a little less meaningful.

With Amridrassil, there have been a number of changes that make the raid harder in some ways. Many addons don't work the way they used to, have lost their strength. This makes Amirdrassil much harder for players who have relied on third-party software.

However, players who have mastered their classes report that the raid feels a little easier than previous raids. Personally, I think the raid is really well done, so much so that I enjoy Season 3 much more than Dragonflight so far
