The next major update for FC 24 is available for download. It is all about the European Football Championship, which starts next week in Germany. The update brings a European Championship mode as a highlight, but also 7 other important changes for all modes.

What kind of update is this?
The update is called "Festival of Football" or translates as "Football Festival". EA announces in the published pitch notes (via ea.com) that with the update they invite everyone to develop a lot of anticipation for the upcoming European Championship.
A highlight in this regard is the new "UEFA EURO 2024 Game Mode", which is playable now. In this new mode, you can do the following:
- The European way: Here you can collect bonuses for the professional and manager careers, as well as for Ultimate Team in challenges
- UEFA EURO 2024: In your own tournament, you can write your own EURO 2024 history with your favourite team. You have the choice to play in the official groups of Euro 2024 or create your own groups *
- Lead your country: Choose a real professional or create your own kicker to advance to the final of Euro 2024. During the tournament, you can choose whether you want to play with just your player or with the whole team *
- Kick-off/Online Friendlies: Play at home or online against your friends or other opponents with the teams and atmosphere of Euro 2024 *

European Championship update brings 7 more important changes
Change 1: New live event in Ultimate Team starts on June 7
In Ultimate Team, the 7th season starts, which, like the update, also has the title "Football Festival". The Season Pass includes more players than ever before. All cards you can earn are part of a new live event.
The Path to Glory event kicks off in Ultimate Team on Friday, June 7. Here you can expect dynamic maps that can upgrade over time. The upgrades depend on the real performance of the player nations in the following international tournaments:
- UEFA Euro 2024
- Copa América
Change 2: New Dynamic Icon and Hero Versions in Ultimate Team
In addition to the special versions of the normal maps, there are also new live versions of the Icons and Heroes. EA has titled these cards "Greats of the Game". They, too, can improve their rating or other skills through their national teams' performances during UEFA Euro 2024 and Copa America.
Change 3: New system for rental cards in Ultimate Team
For the time until the end of Season 7 (July 18), you can get new rental cards. You won't be able to use these new cards for a certain number of games, as usual, but you will receive them for a certain period of time. The time period is the same for all players around the world. So your rental cards have a timer, when this has expired, the availability of your rental card also ends.
You can get the first new rental cards when you log into Ultimate Team during the Road to Glory event. Then you will receive a time-limited Path to Glory rental card.
Change 4: New Cold goal celebration by shooting star Cole Palmer
You can now take advantage of the famous "I'm ice cold" goal celebration, which Chelsea star Cole Palmer often celebrated after scoring this season.
At first, you can only celebrate with Palmer himself. In Ultimate Team, however, it is also part of the new Season Pass and can be unlocked by you at level 20.
5th Change: New Special Move – Double Touch Lane Change
This trick is mixture of the inverted Elastico and the La Croqueta. According to our first test attempts, the skill move could have the advantage of being more explosive in the initial movement. In addition, the change of direction does not seem quite as drastic as with the other two tricks.
The skill can be performed by all 4-star skillers as follows: L2+ Right Stick (90 degrees to the direction of movement) on the Playstation or LT+ Right Stick (90 degrees to the direction of movement) on the Xbox.
6th Change: New Game Faces for 27 Players
Shortly after the start of the Football Festival live event, a number of new player faces were also to be added. This probably applies mainly to professionals from the Premier League. EA has already revealed 4 prominent examples. You can see the most famous one here:

7th Change: Double XP for Clubs Players
The next few weeks could also be worthwhile for players who want to get started in online mode. In clubs, you create your own pro and create your own club or join an existing club. Online, you can then compete with your friends or other players against real opponents, move up leagues or win cups.
For each game you play, you will receive experience points depending on your performance, which will now be doubled. With experience points you can reach new levels and level up your pro.
