Fans don’t have to wait long for the release of Season 14 in Diablo 4, because it starts in just one month. In a blog post, the developers revealed a few details about the content of the new season, the upcoming PTR, and where players can buy Diablo 4 Gold to prepare for the new challenges.
We summarize all the important information for you here and update the article regularly as soon as there are new developments.
Season 14: Start, PTR and Patch Notes
When does Season 14 start? According to the Reliquary in Diablo 4, Season 14 will start on June 30, 2026, as the end of Season 13 is scheduled there. We expect that there will be an update around 19:00 German time.
When does Season 14 end? Each full-size season goes through a 90-day cycle until Blizzard replaces it with a new one. There is no concrete date for the end yet, but if you stay true to the cycle, you can expect Season 14 to run until the end of September.
Is there a PTR for Season 14? Yes, and it ran last week. You could try out the planned changes and new content on the PTR (test server) via Season 14 Battle.net from June 2 to June 9, 2026 (7 p.m. CEST). There you had access to the SSF mode, the seasonal features, the revised Mythics and new rewards for the Tower.
Are there patch notes for Season 14? You can find the detailed patch notes for the PTR on the Blizzard website.
Season 14: Theme and new features
What is the theme of Season 14? So far, the theme of the new season is not yet known. In the blog post, however, Blizzard has already offered an insight into the seasonal content and changes to the base game.
What’s in Season 14:
- Rifts in the Planes of Madness: Rifts are opening in Sanctuary, bringing new monsters and rift goblins into the game. The seasonal mechanic also brings back the Realm Walkers, which open portals to Blood Toll Chambers. These are one-room mini-dungeons with rewards, including Great Keys for Hideout bosses.
- Seasonal Hideout Boss: On the Torment levels, you can fight the Corrupted Soul Reaper and open his loot chest with a Large Shelter Key. It offers the best chances of Mythics and the currency to upgrade uniques.
- Reworked Mythics: “Mythic” is no longer a rarity level with Season 14, but a changeable item quality. Basically, any Unique can now become Mythic with the help of Fragments of Madness on the Horadrim Cube. The fragments can be obtained by climbing the seasonal reputation board and defeating the Corrupted Soul Reaper.
- Updates to War Plans: You can seamlessly complete war plans with your friends in a group. To do this, you need to synchronize your War Plan game boards with the group. You will receive a common game board that generates a new war plan for the entire team. In addition, the XP for all War Plan activities from Torment 8 onwards will be increased, as well as the rewards for the Hell Hordes.
- Updates for the Horadrim Cube: You can modify uniques in the Horadrim Cube via the recipes “Focused Reroll” and “Chaotic Reroll”. The effects of unbequeathed Uniques and Unique Talisman spells can be rerolled. Chromatic tuning prisms also have a small chance of granting all resistances.
- SSF Mode: In this “solo self-finder” mode, you’re basically a lone wanderer who makes his way through Sanctuary alone. You can’t play, trade, or use co-op content in a group. And you only equip gear that you have “found solo and yourself”.
- Quality of Life improvements: The limit for oboluses is now 25,000. There has been a lot of criticism from the community recently, because players sometimes had to teleport from dungeons to the city several times to spend their dues. For Astaroth and Bartuc, boss trophies will also be added and their recipes will be combined in the Horadric Cube.
Season 14: Best Classes and Builds
Which class is the best class in Season 14? In the current Season 13, the “old” classes in particular are at the top of the tier list. The new classes, i.e. Paladin and Warlock, tend to perform worse. Whether this will continue in Season 14 until the end remains to be seen.
