WOW: Why more and more players are choosing to play Hunter?

For a long time, World of Warcraft was considered the MMORPG for anyone who wants to get started with the genre – because of its size and accessibility. In recent years, however, the game has become much more complex, according to players, criticizing the guides around the game.

This is what the players criticize:

  • WoW has received new systems over the years, including completely overhauled talents, which are often behind most of a class's strength.
  • In most cases, in order to reach your full potential, you'll need to choose more complex talent combinations and use more abilities. Some classes do not have an "Easy Mode".
  • The players say: Without addons, some classes would no longer be playable at all. And certainly not at all without an MMO mouse.

Why is this a problem?

WoW now has a lot of mechanics that players need to pay attention to. One user has now commented that the classes themselves have become too complex and is receiving a lot of encouragement for it (via Reddit).

Without the right addons, it is hardly possible to play a class properly. The creator of the thread sums up the problem with a comparison:

The game would be so much more fun if you could put more brain capacity on what's going on around you and not play Guitar Hero in the WeakAura environment.

At the same time, players who just want to play and play in normal raids, dungeons or LFR would be kicked by the raid leader with weaker performance. This happens quite often, especially with new players.

For this reason, weaker classes such as Beast Mastery Hunters, which tend to rank lower in WoW's DPS ranking, are often chosen by players. They are simply easier to play.

"Nobody tells you that because it's not BiS"

Players identify the guides around the game as a problem factor. If you're looking for tips for your class, you'll often just be told what's absolutely best for your playstyle (i.e. "BiS", short for "Best in Slot") – regardless of how hard it is to play.

Most guides would do without an "Easy Mode", a build that gets by with a lot of passive skills and still somehow does what it's supposed to. The idea:

The Easy Mode Spec should only be the easiest way to play a Spec. Minimize all the buttons that need to be pressed. Then you can add complexity bit by bit. However, I see that a lot of guides tell me to skip the talents that are clearly designed to make a spec easier to play.

Other users disagree here. In many cases, it is the case that behind the complex talents there are not only new skills, but deeper in the talent tree other skills that are significantly important for the class. You can't just skip them.

The problem is that new players can't understand their class through the talent tree and the talents themselves. One is dependent on external sources. Blizzard would have to improve here, they say.

Also, for new players, we have plenty of WOW Gold for you to get an edge and a good experience in the game.
