WoW Classic 's Season of Discovery has been in Phase 2 for a few days now. With it came Gnomeregan as a new raid and a new world boss in Stranglethorn Valley: Kha'damu. But it's so hard that even huge groups of players can't beat it. The first ones have now managed to kill and the loot is heavy.
What kind of boss is this?
- Kha'damu, the Chosen of the Blood Loas, is a massive troll who patrols Stranglethorn Vale.
- However, you can only find it on the Season of Discovery servers . There it is part of the content of the current phase 2.
- The world boss is designed to be fought by large groups of players. However, Kha'damu attracts even more opponents than Doomlord Kazzak did back then.
This is what Kha'damu is supposed to drop: Apparently the boss has a mount in his luggage, the Bengal tiger. This is a legendary item that has existed in the game files for ages , but was never generally available to players.
With the appearance of Kha'damu, players assumed that the tiger would drop from the boss. The rush to defeat him was correspondingly great - apart from the fact that there is already interest in the new thing.
It wasn't until the night of Friday, March 1st that the first players managed to lay the world boss.
Entire servers fail, even game masters help
On some US servers, several guilds have coordinated and gathered to fight the world boss. Up to 500 players came together (via Reddit ). One YouTuber even shows how his “entire server” fights the boss (via YouTube ).
Part of the reason why the boss is so tough is that the Season of Discovery gives you a level cap. In Phase 2 you cannot play past level 40. Accordingly, your characters are missing a good part of their power and, above all, the best equipment.
The curiosity about the boss's loot was so great that even game masters are said to have helped in the fight. The World First Kill was still a long time coming.
It wasn't until the early morning of Friday, March 1st that the first official kill video was released. Here too, hundreds of players can be seen slowly wearing down the boss and then fighting over the loot in a lag fest:
Due to the sheer number of players, everything is jerky, even looting takes forever. The maker of the video can finally show what Kha'damu dropped:
- the epic sword Bloodthirst Blade , which many two-handed players will be happy about - but which no one can carry
- several potions
- a little gold
- and of course troll sweat
The Bengal Tiger was not in the world boss's luggage, at least not yet. However, it is unlikely that the mount will ever drop. Only one player has ever received it and that was as a gift for her help with cancer research.
