Just created your VALORANT account and eager to jump into the fray? Hold on, Agent! Before diving headfirst into competitive matches, it's crucial to hone your skills and understand the fundamentals. Luckily, VALORANT's Basic Training Event serves as your personal boot camp, guiding you through the essentials while rewarding you with snazzy cosmetics and even new Agent unlocks!
New Recruits Only
The Basic Training Event is designed specifically for fresh VALORANT faces. If you've been a veteran Agent for a while, you likely won't see this event pop up. But fear not, seasoned soldier! Completing these tasks during your initial gameplay unlocks the same rewards anyway.
Basic Training Won't Skip Boot Camp
Don't confuse Basic Training with the standard tutorial. Every new account must complete the tutorial, which throws you into the Training Range to learn the ropes of movement, aiming, using Agent abilities, and planting the Spike. Once you conquer this initial hurdle, you'll be greeted by the Basic Training Event page.
Conquer Combat, Earn Rewards
The Intro section, likely already completed after the tutorial, grants your first free Agent unlock. Now comes the heart of Basic Training: Combat. Here, you'll be tasked with eliminating 10 enemies, purchasing 15 weapons, and utilizing your Agent abilities a total of 20 times.
A single unrated match should provide ample opportunity to check off these goals. Completing the Combat section unlocks the V Protocol Player Card and the prestigious Recruit title. You can monitor your progress throughout a match by heading to the missions tab in the main menu.
Beyond Basic Training Awaits
Once you ace the Combat section, three additional sections unlock, showering you with more cosmetic goodies like the Coin Gun Buddy and another Agent unlock. Completing Basic Training entirely removes the event page from your menu, signifying your graduation and welcoming you to the world of VALORANT as a certified Agent!
