For almost two decades, only one player got this mount in World of Warcraft - now many will get it if they put their minds to it.
There are now hundreds of different mounts in the World of Warcraft. Even for dedicated collectors, it is now almost impossible to collect all of them. The most sought-after mounts are of course the rarest. Because most people would like to show off a mount that others don't have.
By far the rarest mount, only one player has received it in almost 17 years.
What kind of mount is this?
We're talking about the "Fluorescent Green Mechanostrider". As the name suggests, this is a robot rider and is actually one of the gnomes' mounts. In contrast to the other robo riders, it has a green-yellowish color and does not appear in this variant in the game.
Why is the mount so rare?
The mount is a recolor that was never available in the game. The bright green robot rider could not be bought from any NPC and it did not exist as a drop. The mount was only in the game data, but was never used - except once.
A player named Narshe came into possession of the mount when it was accidentally assigned to him by a Game Master. That was shortly after the launch of “The Burning Crusade,” more than 17 years ago. The player had written a ticket because he had a problem with another robot rider. When correcting this error, the game master accidentally assigned him the wrong robot rider - the bright green version.
For many years, Narshe was the only player to own this mount, making his account incredibly valuable.
At the time of patch 6.2, Narshe is said to have tried to sell his account for a lot of money (via wowpedia ). This is already forbidden due to the terms and conditions, Blizzard became aware of it. In response, the mount was removed from Narshe's collection, causing it to once again fall into obscurity.
Where can you get the mount now?
Anyone hoping to finally be able to add the mount to their own collection in WoW Dragonflight should dampen their joy a little. Because the “Bright Green Robostrider” was found in the Season of Discovery . It's available as a drop from the final boss in Gnomeregan - this is a raid in the Season of Discovery and not a simple dungeon.
More and more players are reporting on social media that they have enjoyed the mount and are happy about it. It is a “real classic experience” that this exact mount appears here.
It remains to be seen whether the mount will also be unlocked again in the “retail” version of World of Warcraft and thus satisfy the collecting madness of mount fans.
But there is a bit of hope - because the drop in the Season of Discovery at least shows that Blizzard is ready to handle game data that has existed unused for almost 17 years.
Another item in the Season of Discovery is also being celebrated right now - because it forces you not to play .
